Psychoeducational Assessment
A Psychoeducational Assessment (sometimes called a “psychovocational assessment” for work settings) is a hybrid assessment that combines a complete psychological assessment with neurocognitive and academic testing. This combination allows Psychoeducational Assessments to clarify the mental health factors and the (potentially neurodevelopmental) learning difficulties that interfere with your optimal performance at work or school. A Psychoeducational Assessment overlaps considerably with a neuropsychological assessment; however, where a neuropsychological assessment emphasizes in-depth evaluation of neurocognitive functioning, a Psychoeducational Assessment emphasizes the identification of specific learning issues and processing deficits.
As with all of our assessment services, a Psychoeducational Assessment will result in a report for you that outlines any relevant diagnoses, an explanation of your challenges, and helpful recommendations for your next steps.
A Psychoeducational Assessment is often undertaken when a person has questions about attentional challenges, learning/memory problems, reading difficulties (dyslexia), writing difficulties (dysgraphia), or numerical/math difficulties (dyscalculia).
