Our treatment services are evidence-based, flexible, and personalized to assist you with making the changes you desire. Treatment is a collaborative process; while we may provide clinical insight and guidance, we recognize that you are the expert in your experience. Through discussions and therapeutic activities, treatment may assist you with understanding emotional patterns that are negatively affecting your life, developing skills to manage stress or other symptoms, improve your relationships, and/or clarifying the direction you want to take to reach your goals.

Psychotherapy

Counselling & Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy can fulfill many different purposes. For some, Psychotherapy is a means to understand themselves, their relationships, and their patterns more clearly. For others, Psychotherapy is a way to process and work through challenging fears and symptoms that interfere with their life. For yet others, Psychotherapy offers a place of emotional safety where one can share their experiences openly without judgment.

At its core, Psychotherapy relies on a strong therapeutic relationship, co-exploration, and supportive skill building to help you live the life you want.

There are many approaches to Psychotherapy and some may resonate more than others. At TPNS, we pride ourselves on providing personalized support that is tailored for you and your needs.

Psychotherapy may be conducted virtually or in person depending on preference and availability. We will work with you to find an approach that works.

Our clinicians are trained in a variety of evidence-based approaches; however, we also recognize that “manualized” approaches to treatment are not always a perfect fit. We value our clients’ individuality and adjust treatment to fit each person according to their abilities, preferences, and goals.

Treatment approaches we offer include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness-Integrated CBT (MiCBT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
  • Exposure-based therapies (e.g., Prolonged Exposure)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR-informed approaches)
  • Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFT)
  • Dialectial Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Interpersonal and experiential therapies

Treatment may be provided virtually, in person, or by phone.

Executive Function Coaching

Executive Function Coaching

Executive Functioning refers to the overarching suite of cognitive functions governing goal-setting, self-monitoring, task initiation, focus, and flexibility. Correspondingly, Executive Function deficits undermine productivity and self-management. Neuroatypical individuals in particular may struggle with Executive Function deficits, though many may benefit from dedicated coaching to improve their general performance and functioning.

Executive Function Coaching provides psychoeducation and supported strategy development to strengthen individuals’ Executive Functioning and general cognitive-behavioural integration. Unique to coaching, treatment plans may include goal-consistent milestones and other means of sustaining new habits.
